How to Brew Your First Liter:

To ensure a successful ferment, follow these exact procedural steps to introduce your live culture to its new environment.

Brewing Steps

 

1.Prepare Sweet Tea Base:Prerequisite.

Boil 900ml of water and steep 2 teaspoons (approx. 4-6g) of organic black or green tea for 5 to 10 minutes. Stir in 60g to 80g of organic cane sugar until completely dissolved.

2.Cool to Room Temperature:Critical Step.

Allow the sweet tea to cool down entirely to room temperature (between 20°C and 25°C). Note: Adding live cultures to hot liquid exceeding 35°C will permanently damage or kill the active microbes.

3.Combine with Starter:Assembly.

Pour your cooled sweet tea into a clean glass fermentation jar, then pour in the entire 100ml bottle of Kefirko Kombucha Starter. Stir gently with a wooden or plastic spoon.

4.Cover and Ferment:Incubation.

Cover the top of the jar with a clean, breathable cloth secured by an elastic band to let oxygen in while keeping dust and pests out. Leave the jar undisturbed in a warm, dark place (22–26°C) for 7 to 14 days. Taste test with a straw until it reaches your preferred balance of tangy and sweet!

 

💡 Pro-Tip for Continuous Brewing: The thin, translucent gel layer that forms on top of your liquid over the two-week fermentation is your brand-new, homegrown SCOBY! For your subsequent batches, always reserve 100ml of your finished brew alongside this new SCOBY to serve as the starter liquid for your next 1-liter batch.
