Spilanthes oleracea, a flowering herb in the plant family Asteracaea is also known as toothache plant or paracress. More interestingly its other name is the peek-a-boo plant because the flowers are round yellow balls with a red ‘eye’ on top.

  • Anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal and analgesic
  • Great for fighting nasty fungal infections like Athletes foot.
  • Beneficial for toothache
  • Can be used internally or externally

Fungal conditions such as athletes foot can be difficult to eradicate. Spilanthes has traditionally been used in Europe for the treatment of fungal infections. Regular application will steadily resolve fungal overgrowth. Native to the tropics of both Africa and South America, this sharp-tasting plant may date from a time before the drifting of the continents. People of traditional cultures in the old and the new world independently discovered its uses.

Alfred Vogel and his gardeners worked closely to select the best variety for this tincture, which can be used internally and externally. Alfred Vogel recommended alternating Spilanthes and Molkosan in order to attack stubborn fungi effectively.

What is it used for?
